The Megatron Poltergeist
The Megatron in Alconbury, Cambridge, was once home to a rather mischievous poltergeist. This flying saucer-shaped restaurant, which sadly no longer stands, was the site of some pretty unusual occurrences back in the early 1990s. The owner was understandably sceptical at first, but things took a turn for the strange when he started hearing footsteps that followed him around late at night. It was then that he realised he wasn't alone in the building.
Built as a futuristic restaurant, The Megatron was always going to stand out, but it was its paranormal activity that really put it on the map. The poltergeist that inhabited the building was known for knocking on walls and throwing items around, causing quite a stir among staff and customers. The activity was eventually brought to an end with the performance of an exorcism, which was likely a relief for all involved. Although the restaurant itself was demolished in 2008, the memory of its ghostly inhabitant lives on.
The Megatron was a notable building in Alconbury due to its unique flying saucer design.
