Charlotte Dymond's Moorland Ghost
Roughtor, Bodmin Moor
Roughtor, a windswept summit on Bodmin Moor, is home to a haunting legend. It's said that Charlotte Dymond, a young woman, was brutally murdered here and her boyfriend, wrongly accused of the crime, was hanged. They say Charlotte still roams these rugged hills, dressed in a flowing gown and silk bonnet, searching for justice or peace. Her spirit is believed to manifest on April 14th every year, a date that may be linked to her tragic death.
