Renishaw House Ghostly Kisser

Renishaw House, Renishaw, Derbyshire Apparition Victorian

Renishaw House in Derbyshire has been home to some pretty strange goings-on over the years. Back in 1885 a female guest woke up with a start when she felt a ghostly presence kiss her three times in bed. She jumped up turned on the light but found her locked bedroom was empty. It seems this ghostly kisser wasnt trying to cause any harm just a gentle phantom with a penchant for affection.

Fast forward to a few years later and another guest caught a glimpse of a woman dressed in blue and white dashing down a corridor with her arms outstretched. But as she reached the staircase she vanished into thin air. What makes this haunting even more intriguing is the discovery of an empty coffin concealed under the staircase. Its unclear what connection this has to the ghostly kisser but its certainly a spooky addition to the tale. The haunting manifestations date back to 1909.
