Aspinshaw Hall Poltergeist

Aspinshaw Hall, Rowarth, Derbyshire Poltergeist Seventeenth century

Aspinshaw Hall in Rowarth, Derbyshire, is home to a rather mischievous poltergeist. The trouble began when new tenants moved in after the death of a well-liked local lawyer who previously occupied the hall. As they started to remove the lawyer's belongings, they found themselves in the midst of a poltergeist attack. Bed sheets were pulled from the beds, and loud banging at night made it impossible for the new occupants to get a good night's sleep. It seems the lawyer's spirit didn't take too kindly to strangers in his home.

The haunting at Aspinshaw Hall dates back to the seventeenth century. The former occupier, a local lawyer, had been well liked by the community. When he passed away, his belongings were still in the hall, and it's believed that his spirit was stirred by the new tenants' attempts to clear out his possessions. The poltergeist activity that ensued suggests that the lawyer's spirit was quite active, trying to defend his home from intruders. The new tenants' experiences with bed sheets being pulled and loud nocturnal banging are just a few examples of the paranormal activity reported at Aspinshaw Hall.
