What's even more unsettling is that some drivers have reported picking her up, only for her to vanish a few miles down the road, leaving them shaken and bewildered.

Located at 13 The Green, Aycliffe Village, the former site of a possibly abandoned building was home to strange occurrences in the past. According to eyewitness accounts, disembodied voices were heard after hours. It's hard to pinpoint where these eerie sounds came from. To make matters even more peculiar, the bar piano occasionally got into play.

Luckily, the visitor managed to seek shelter within the grange just in time, as a pitchfork came flying towards them, embedding itself in the door with a loud thud. Locomotion Hotel, Eaglescliffe

Locomotion Hotel in Eaglescliffe, County Durham, has a reputation for paranormal activity. When the hotel was known as The Sportsman's Hotel, staff and guests reported strange occurrences. The sound of darts being played on the board could be heard, even when the room was empty. Empty glasses would mysteriously reappear after being cleared away. Gas taps would turn off by themselves, and the doors in the ladies' toilets would open and close on their own. Some people even spotted a pair of feet in the cellar and a lady in a dark-coloured Victorian dress in the upstairs flat. Interestingly, these phantom sightings and sounds only seemed to happen on Wednesdays. It's unclear if the paranormal activity still occurs after the hotel's name change and refurbishment.
