Ghostly Band Music
Western Lawns in Hove was once home to a beautiful bandstand where people would gather to enjoy live music. But after it fell into disrepair and before the area was redeveloped in 1968, something strange started to happen. People would still hear music coming from the abandoned bandstand, even though it was no longer in use. It was as if the music had become a ghostly presence, lingering long after the bandstand itself had been left to decay.
The bandstand at Western Lawns was a popular spot for music and entertainment in its heyday. Built during the Victorian era, it was a hub for community events and gatherings. Although we dont know the exact date or time when the ghostly music started, it is believed to have occurred prior to the area's redevelopment in 1968. The music was reportedly heard by multiple people, suggesting that it wasnt just a one-off incident. Unfortunately, the bandstand was demolished and the area was redeveloped, but the legend of the ghostly band music lives on.
