Wyck Rissington Rectory Poltergeist

Wyck Rissington Rectory, Wyck, Gloucestershire Poltergeist 20th century

Wyck Rissington Rectory in Gloucestershire was once home to Canon Cheales, who had a rather unusual and unsettling experience. Between 22:00 and 02:00, strange noises and rattling door handles became a regular occurrence, caused by a presence known as Geoffrey. It got to the point where Canon Cheales felt the need to take drastic action, carrying out an exorcism to try and rid his home of the mischievous entity. This poltergeist activity was certainly a trying time for the Canon and his family.

In the twentieth century, this rectory was witness to some unexplained phenomena. The identity of Geoffrey remains a mystery, but his presence was certainly felt by Canon Cheales. The disturbances were limited to a specific time frame, suggesting a possible connection to the night or a particular schedule. While we dont know much about Geoffrey's motivations, his actions were enough to prompt an exorcism, a serious and solemn affair. The fact that Canon Cheales took such drastic action suggests that the experience was genuinely unsettling.
