Flying Brass Poltergeist
Mather and Platt's Works, Bury
Deep in the heart of Bury, at Mather and Platt's Works in Bradley Fold, a most peculiar and intriguing poltergeist event took place back in January 1958. It was here, within the confines of this industrial setting, that two designers bore witness to a series of bizarre occurrences that would leave even the most sceptical of minds questioning the nature of reality. Brass bushes suddenly took to the air, flying haphazardly around their office in a display that defied explanation. The chaos didnt stop there; a bottle of red ink inexplicably hurled itself at a manager, while a pencil sharpener traversed the room unaided, as if propelled by an unseen force. The disturbances were not limited to these incidents alone, with mugs also inexplicably falling from surfaces, further adding to the mystique of this enigmatic event.
