In the early twentieth century, two musicians, a bugler and a drummer, were sent behind the barracks to practice out of earshot of their fellow trainees. They were apparently so bad that they needed to be hidden away. But what happened next is shrouded in mystery. A fog descended and the musicians were heard screaming; when it lifted, they had vanished into thin air, leaving behind only a smashed drum and a broken bugle.
