Cawdor Castle, Nairn

Legend has it that she was caught by her father, a rather vicious man, hugging her lover, and as punishment, he ordered her hands to be severed. This brutal act was meant to prevent her from ever hugging again, a cruel fate that has left an indelible mark on the castle's paranormal landscape. The Handless Girl is not the only ghost said to roam the castle's halls; John Campbell, the first Lord Cawdor, is also rumoured to haunt the site.
