Edgeborrow Haunting Chatham
Hill House, Chatham
The site of the old Hill House, once the residence of Kenrick Edisbury, nicknamed Edgeborrow, Surveyor of the Navy, is now occupied by the Medway Council Offices in Chatham, Kent. Edgeborrow's ghost was said to haunt his former bedroom long after his death in the mid-seventeenth century. The room apparently left a lasting impression on its visitors, including the famous diarist Samuel Pepys, who spent a night there but mercifully didnt encounter the ghost, although he was briefly unnerved by a pillow.
