Dover Castle Headless Drummer
Dover Castle, Dover
Dover Castle, a historic fortress perched atop the White Cliffs of Dover, is said to be haunted by the ghost of a headless drummer boy dating back to the Napoleonic period. This eerie apparition is often accompanied by sightings of a lady in red and a figure in blue. The castle's labyrinthine tunnels, which stretch deep beneath the fortress, are home to the restless spirits of Second World War soldiers and operatives, possibly escapees from Dunkirk. One eyewitness reported seeing a figure in khaki with a blurred face walking purposefully along a corridor in 2013.
