It's said that Mr Danby met his untimely demise here in 1832, his life brutally cut short by an unknown assailant who slashed his throat. The shock and fear of his death seemed to imprint his spirit onto this spot, and not long after, his ghost began to make appearances. One dark evening, a horse-drawn carriage rattled down this very road, its occupants blissfully unaware of the terror that was about to unfold. As they journeyed on, Mr Danby's vengeful spirit suddenly materialised, giving chase and sending the carriage occupants into a state of sheer horror.

Hadley Road, Outer London: Enfield

On Hadley Road in Enfield, a spine-tingling sighting has been reported on cold, misty nights. The ghostly form of an old woman, executed as a witch in 1622, is said to return to the stretch of road where she once lived. Her spirit is believed to roam the area, searching for something or someone. The eerie conditions of the misty nights seem to bring her back to this spot, where she met her untimely demise.
