Listowel Poltergeist Haunting

Glanuna Foka, Listowel, Mid Ulster Poltergeist Victorian

Glanuna Foka on Convent Street in Listowel has a reputation for being one of Ireland's most intriguing poltergeist cases. This house was the scene of a rather dramatic and unexplained series of events in the late nineteenth century. Chairs and other furniture were thrown through the windows, causing quite a commotion among the locals. When they rushed to the scene, they were baffled to find no one inside the house. It was as if the furniture had moved of its own accord.

The phenomenon at Glanuna Foka is a classic example of a poltergeist outbreak. The term poltergeist, meaning noisy ghost, was coined to describe this type of entity that causes physical disturbances. In this case, the throwing of furniture through windows suggests a high level of energy and malevolence. Although we dont know much about the people who lived in the house at the time, its clear that they were subjected to a terrifying experience. The fact that multiple witnesses reported seeing no one in the house adds to the mystery and suggests that the cause of the disturbance was genuinely unexplained.
