The story goes that he was a keen swimmer who met a tragic end, drowning one night, and his wife has been waiting for him in vain ever since. Locals claim that on Halloween, the 31st of October, she appears to those who dare to venture into the castle gardens, and it's said that whoever sees her ghost will be picked up and thrown into the ocean.

Whatever the truth may be, one thing is certain: encountering Brian is an experience you won't soon forget.

Belvelly Castle stands shrouded in mystery and intrigue, its stone walls bearing witness to a centuries-old tale of love, loss, and lingering spirits. Moreno, a Spanish bard, found himself in a bitter dispute with Dion, an Irish bard, which ultimately led to the Irishman's demise in self-defence. However, Moreno's respite was short-lived, as one of Dion's followers exacted a poisonous revenge. Now, on moonlit nights, Moreno's ghost is said to serenade the castle with melancholic songs in his native tongue.

Blarney Castle, Blarney

Blarney Castle, a place steeped in history and mystery, is home to a rather intriguing ghostly sighting known as the Man at the Window. On 15 October 2010, a team from Echo Ghosthunters caught a glimpse of a man standing by a window in the castle. What's particularly fascinating about this encounter is that when they went to investigate, they found that there were no stairs leading to that spot. It seems that the man had vanished into thin air, or perhaps, he was never really there in the first place. The team also managed to record an EVP, or electronic voice phenomenon, in another location within the castle, adding another layer of intrigue to this already captivating experience.

Carrigrohane Castle, Carrigrohane

It's here that a rather unusual ghostly encounter took place, involving a phantom woman dressed in an old-fashioned blue gown. One morning, Uncle Lindsay woke up to find this mysterious figure standing beside his bed. The family later revealed that the ghost was none other than Lady Clotilda, affectionately known as Dotty Clotty.
