Fairy Path Cattle Mystery
Former croft at Knockeencreen, Brosna
Knockeencreen's rolling hills and rural landscape are home to a most unusual tale of cattle and fairies. A local farmer was at his wit's end, struggling to keep his livestock alive as they mysteriously fell ill and died. It was then that a passing gypsy offered him some sage advice - his home was blocking a fairy path, and by leaving his doors open at night, the fairies could pass through unimpeded. The farmer took the gypsy's words to heart and did just that, and to his surprise, the cattle deaths stopped abruptly.
