Sheffield Apprentice Ghost
Barker's Pool, Sheffield
Barker's Pool in Sheffield was the scene of a most unusual gathering back in 1875. A crowd of around a thousand people had assembled to catch a glimpse of a glowing figure that had appeared in a window. This apparition, dubbed the ghost of an apprentice, seemed to have drawn quite the crowd. However, a keen-eyed police officer noticed that the entity bore a striking resemblance to a light being reflected in the window, moving gently in the breeze. Once the window was secured, the ghost vanished from view.
