An older church worker reportedly told the sexton about a monk-like figure that had been seen passing through the church, disappearing through a bricked-up doorway in the north wall. A3 near town, Cobham

On a stretch of the A3 near Cobham in Surrey, a rather eerie encounter took place on 27 November 1965. The musical group Peter Bs were driving along this road when they spotted a ghostly figure. The entity was clad in an army greatcoat and emitted a strange glow. Its hollow eye sockets were particularly unsettling. The band did some research and thought the figure might be Field Marshal Lord Ligonier, who is buried at Cobham church. This chilling sighting left a lasting impression on the group.
