Phantom Castle Couple

Dudley Castle, Dudley, Westmidlands Apparition Medieval

Dudley Castle, a 12th-century fortress in the West Midlands, is said to be home to a number of ghostly entities. One of the most intriguing is a phantom couple who are reportedly seen walking arm in arm through the gatehouse of the castle ruins. They are joined by other apparitions, including a ghostly Lady Jane Grey and a grey lady believed to be Dorothy Beaumont. The castle's paranormal activity is not limited to visual sightings, as the clash of swords has also been heard echoing through its ancient walls.

Built in the 12th century, Dudley Castle has a long and bloody history, having changed hands several times over the centuries. Lady Jane Grey, also known as the Nine Days' Queen, was imprisoned in the castle before her execution in 1554. It's little wonder, then, that her ghost is said to haunt the site. In 1998, a man was reportedly pushed down the keep's spiral staircase by a grey lady, thought to be Dorothy Beaumont. This incident, along with the numerous sightings of the phantom couple and other ghostly entities, has cemented Dudley Castle's reputation as one of England's most haunted locations.
