This strange phenomenon has been reported by multiple witnesses, leaving many to wonder about the origins and explanations behind these ghostly sounds. High up in the Cumbrian hills, the road above Dalehead is said to be haunted by a member of the Leathes family. The exact circumstances of this ghostly presence are shrouded in mystery, but reports suggest that a phantom figure has been seen in the area. While we dont know much about the Leathes family or what brought them to this part of the world, their restless spirit is said to roam these hills.

Forest, Thirlmere

Deep in the heart of Thirlmere forest, a Mountain Leader had a rather unexpected encounter while guiding a group of teenagers on a DofE Gold expedition. As he cut through the forest to meet up with them, he stumbled upon a clearing and was face to face with a majestic tan-coloured Mountain Lion. For about a minute, the man and the lion locked eyes, before the lion calmly turned and walked into the trees. Interestingly, the lion was headed in the direction the leader wanted to go, so he decided to retrace his steps and take a detour through the forest instead.

Castle Rock, Thirlmere

Castle Rock in Thirlmere, Cumbria, is a place shrouded in mystery and eerie silence.
