The Hunton Hill Phantom
Hunton Hill has been the site of a most peculiar and intriguing incident. On the evening of 20 September 1985, lorry driver Peter Russell was travelling along the road when he hit a woman who was lying in the road. A police officer and a doctor were already at the scene, and they told Peter that he had not killed the woman, and that he should go home. This seemed like a straightforward enough accident, or so it would appear.
However things took a strange turn when Peter later went to the police station to report the incident. To his surprise there was no record of the accident, and after a brief investigation the police declared that Peter was the victim of a hoax. It seems that no one else witnessed the woman in the road, and no body was ever found. The incident has left many questions unanswered, and has become a fascinating footnote in the annals of paranormal activity in Kent.
