Former priory, Tutbury

Tutbury Priory Church stands as a haunting reminder of a centuries-old spiritual presence. In February 2012, at 22:00h, two witnesses were treated to an unsettling experience - the sound of Gregorian chanting wafted through the church, lingering for a couple of minutes before fading away. The eerie singing seemed to emanate from within the church itself, leaving the witnesses with a lasting sense of unease.

Road just outside the village, Talke

Just outside the village of Talke in Staffordshire, a rather eerie phenomenon has been reported by drivers on a rural road. It's said that before the apparition appears, people hear a sound like a hammer striking an anvil. Then, a phantom horse comes into view, being led by a man, but both the horse and its handler are curiously truncated, cut off at the knees. This strange sight is thought to be a relic from an older track that once crossed this road, now built upon.

Tutbury Castle, Tutbury

Tutbury Castle has a reputation for being one of the most haunted places in England, and in 2003 it made history by hosting the world's largest ghost hunt. Over 700 people gathered at the castle to try and catch a glimpse of the paranormal activity that's been reported here for centuries. The castle's ghostly residents are said to include a phantom monk, a grey lady, a drummer boy, and even Mary Queen of Scots herself. With such a rich history of hauntings, it's no wonder that Tutbury Castle is a hotspot for paranormal enthusiasts.

Duke Street, Tutbury

Duke Street in Tutbury has been the site of a rather intriguing ghostly sighting. Back in March 1993, a photograph was taken that appears to show a person clad in a cloak making their way down the street. The image was later printed in Fortean Times issue 157, sparking interest and debate among paranormal enthusiasts. While we dont know much about the circumstances surrounding the photo, its said to be a genuine capture of a mysterious figure.

Dog & Partridge, Tutbury

The Dog and Partridge Hotel in the heart of Tutbury has a long history of paranormal activity. Workers employed between 2013 and 2017 reported seeing a 'Grey Lady' apparition wandering the halls, as well as experiencing strange events like TVs turning on by themselves to show static. Items would be moved around, leaving staff puzzled about what could be causing it.

Lizard Lane area, Shifnal

In the quiet Staffordshire town of Shifnal, specifically around Lizard Lane, a most intriguing haunting has been reported. Following the death of a local farmer named Diggory Mayne, his property became plagued by strong, unexplained winds. These gusts were so powerful they would upset horses and cause doors to slam shut. Interestingly, the winds ceased once Mayne's body was removed from the premises. However, this marked only the beginning of the strange occurrences, as the ghost of Diggory Mayne soon started appearing in the area, reportedly riding a horse.
