In the quaint village of West Clandon, Surrey, a legendary creature is said to have met its demise. A dragon, described as a fearsome beast, had been terrorising the locals. The villagers, desperate for relief, found an unlikely hero in an ex-soldier who, with the help of his trusty dog, bravely confronted the creature. The dog, with its agility, leapt onto the dragon's face, distracting it long enough for the soldier to strike the final blow, decapitating the wyrm. This tale of bravery has been immortalised in a woodcarving within the local church.

A3, Guildford

On a crisp autumn evening in 2006, two police officers were driving along the A3 near Guildford when they spotted a bright white light in the distance. As they drove under the light at the Guildford flyover, they could make out a strange triangular shape with three white lights and a dim pulsating red light in the centre. The officers weren't the only ones who had noticed the unusual sight - several other drivers had pulled over to watch the shape, which was hovering above the town. Over the course of the evening, eight more lights were spotted drifting over Guildford, leaving witnesses to wonder what they had just seen.

On a stretch of the A3 in Burpham, Surrey, a bizarre and chilling phenomenon has been reported. It's a spot where the road winds its way through a fairly straight section, not particularly prone to accidents. Yet, on one fateful evening in December 2002, several motorists witnessed a car careening off the road, crashing into a ditch. Police were swiftly called to the scene, only to find that the accident had actually occurred five months prior. The car, now a tangled wreck, sat quietly in the ditch, out of sight from the road above. What made the scene even more macabre was the recovery of the skeletal remains of the driver.

Sutton Arms, Sutton

The Sutton Arms in Sutton, Surrey, has been at the centre of some pretty strange occurrences. Customers have reported seeing the reflection of an older man in the toilet mirror, even when there's no one around to match the description. It's not just the odd sighting either - the pub has experienced some pretty bizarre happenings, including glass bottles exploding for no reason, locked doors swinging open, and footprints appearing on freshly mopped floors that don't belong to anyone on site.

Chilworth's sleepy roads can be unsettling at the best of times, but one stretch in particular has earned a reputation for being downright eerie. It's here, between Rices Corner and Percy Arms, that a cyclist reported a harrowing encounter in the early hours of the morning back in 1960. As he pedalled home from work, he noticed another rider on a bike a short distance behind him. The second cyclist eventually caught up, and the witness called out when he realised the man had no lights on. But it was what happened next that would stay with him forever - the figure on the second bike turned his head, and the witness was shocked to see that the rider had no face, just a blurry area where features should have been.
