As the story goes, the plotters, foiled in their attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament, fled the city, and one of them rode through Tatsfield in his haste to safety.

On a chilly winter's night, just north of Godstone in Surrey, a driver had a close encounter with a ghostly figure. It was around 00:30 on 23 December 1967, and he was cruising along the A22 when suddenly a man darted out in front of his car. The driver slammed on the brakes, his heart racing as he thought he'd hit the figure, but when he stopped, there was no one there. The man he'd nearly collided with was described as around six foot tall, thin faced, sporting a moustache, and clad in a light coloured trench coat.

Woldingham, a picturesque village in Surrey, is home to a rather unusual paranormal tale. Katie Price, the famous model and TV personality, made headlines back in March 2010 when she announced she was leaving her seven-bedroom home due to a rather unwelcome reason - ghostly activity. Apparently, Katie and her then-husband Alex Reid were being hounded by not one, but two phantoms. Yes, you read that right - two ghosts made their presence known in the property.

Old Rectory, Caterham

Cedar House in Caterham, Surrey, has a long-standing reputation for paranormal activity. This former rectory, now the headquarters of Buxton Building Contractors, is said to be haunted by a ghostly hooded monk.
