The Days Hotel in Coventry is said to be haunted by five phantoms. While four of these apparitions are rarely seen, the fifth is that of a maid who still roams the upper floors. This poor woman was allegedly mistreated by the manager and harbours a strong dislike for men - so much so that she tends to conceal their belongings and has been blamed for minor mishaps they may have experienced.

On the A4028 road, connecting Coventry and Rugby, a bizarre phantom lorry has been spotted by numerous drivers. This ghostly HGV is said to travel at speed, only to vanish just before hitting the vehicle in front of it. Imagine driving eastbound on a quiet evening, when suddenly a large lorry appears out of nowhere, seemingly on a collision course - only to disappear into thin air. It's a chilling experience that has left many witnesses shaken.

Terry Road, Coventry

Terry Road in Coventry is a seemingly ordinary street, but it's been the site of a bizarre and unsettling paranormal encounter. In April 1994, a person walking their neighbour's dogs was suddenly and inexplicably confronted with a 'very transparent ripple' that had a profound effect on them. The witness was overcome with dread and screamed out loud, so shaken that they wouldn't sleep properly for a week afterwards. The ripple seemed to have come out of nowhere, leaving the witness to wonder what exactly they had experienced.

Coventry Cathedral has witnessed some pretty strange occurrences over the years. One of the most bizarre is the sound of old aircraft droning overhead, particularly since the city was levelled by German bombers during World War II. It's as if the skies above the cathedral are still filled with the ghosts of planes past. But that's not all - in 1893, people spotted a human arm holding a blue torch in the north aisle. It's the story of a tailor who couldn't resist the temptation to look out of his window as Lady Godiva rode naked through the city in the 1200s. According to the tale, Lady Godiva was protesting her husband's tax increase, and all the town's inhabitants stayed indoors, shutting their windows and doors to show their support. But not our curious tailor, Tom - he just couldn't help himself, and as he gazed out at the lady, he was struck blind for his trouble.

Swanswell Gate, Coventry

Swanswell Gate in Coventry has a reputation for being one of the city's most unusual paranormal hotspots. It all started in June 2003 when three men decided to spend the night there to raise money for charity. They were in for a shock as they witnessed a dustpan unhook itself from the wall and fly across the room. This bizarre incident was the catalyst for the location's poltergeist reputation.
