Red stone close to Kilburn Priory, NW6

Near Kilburn Priory, a small red stone marks the spot where St. Gervase met his untimely demise. According to legend, Gervase was brutally killed by his brother Stephen, who had grown obsessed with Gervase's wife. The stone on which Gervase's body fell turned a deep shade of red, as if stained with his blood. This eerie phenomenon was said to have forced Stephen to confess to his heinous crime.
