The Man in Grey Haunting

Drayton Manor, Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire Apparition Victorian

Drayton Manor, a grand estate in Staffordshire, is said to be haunted by a bizarre apparition known as the Man in Grey. In 1999, a former security guard named Richard Kingstone reported a terrifying encounter with this ghostly figure while on patrol. Kingstone claimed that he and another guard came across a man dressed in a long grey coat, but as they drew closer, they realised it was not human. The figure was described as being brown and hairy with no discernible face. It lunged at the two men, prompting one of them to try and hit it with a torch, but the object passed straight through the apparition.

Interestingly, this wasnt an isolated incident. Kingstone also reported that other guards had experienced strange occurrences, including hearing footsteps running around the park and the sound of horses. While the origins of the Man in Grey remain unclear, its appearance has been documented as a haunting manifestation. The fact that multiple witnesses have come forward with similar accounts lends credibility to the claims. Drayton Manor's rich history, dating back to the Victorian era, may hold some clues to the identity of this mysterious figure.
